About me

Hi, everyone! Thanks for visiting my blog.

I'm Ana and I'm 35. I am from Rosario, one of the biggest and most beautiful cities in Argentina. I have always lived in Rosario and I love it!

Ever since I was a child I enjoyed learning English. In fact, it all began when I was 10 years old! First, I studied at "Asociación Rosarina de Cultura Inglesa" and at school (Normal N° 1). Later on, I decided I wanted to become a teacher and so attended "Instituto de Enseñanza Superior Olga Cossettini". I graduated in 1999 and have been working as a teacher ever since. However, that didn't mean I stopped studying. In 2001 I enrolled on a post-graduate course and received an additional teaching degree from "Universidad Nacional de Rosario" . After that, I got another degree in English as a foreign language from the same university and now I'm planning to take a post-graduate course to learn more about ICT use in education.

I have been teaching at public secondary schools since 1999 and I love working with adolescents. I also teach English to adults, including travellers, young entrepreneurs and professionals, and provide one-to-one lessons and small group courses at my office. I teach general English and some of my students sit for PET, FCE and CAE Cambridge exams.

What do I like doing when I'm not working? I enjoy reading and I love taking photos and drawing but the truth is spend hours surfing the internet! Well, sometimes I do get offline, haha. I attend pilates classes twice a week, usually go the park  and visit friends at weekends.

  1. Hi Ana!
I'm also an EFL teacher. I'm from Buenos Aires City.
I've been running a blog where I upload activities for my students and I have also been doing a lot of research on the use of 2.0 tools and IWBs in my lessons. I teach in company adult groups and also work as a coordinator at an English institute. After reading your post, I feel encouraged to give Google sites a try.
Last year I created a site supported by Yola and I used it as an e-portfolio to organized my students' homework. I also made the attempt to get them to collaborate on a wiki, yet I'm not satisfied with the results because I could not find the way to get my students involved.
Teaching adults IS a challenge! And I love it!
By the way, I'm 48. I've been teaching English for over 25 years. I'd love to keep in contact with you and share our teaching experience. See you around

  2. Patricia,
Thanks so much for your comment! I've been having a look at your blogs and they are very interesting. I particularly enjoyed the one with videos and acitivities. They are simply great!

As regards google sites,do give them a try. You'll see how useful they can be. I'm sure you'll master creating them in a short time (you already know how to embed videos and google docs, for example). Anyway, if you have any questions or problems, feel free to ask!Let's keep in touch!

    Big hugs from Rosario.
